She has dual degrees in Journalism (with a specialization in Science Writing) and Comparative Literature.

A self-motivated and ambitious individual, she designed her own undergraduate major and course outline, combining classes in journalism, public relations, and reporting with classes in the history and philosophy of science through IU's Individualized Major Program. This has enabled her to learn about and cover a huge range of subject matter with precision, depth, and a unique and powerful voice.

She is currently the Arlington Heights Arts Scene reporter for Examiner.com and a writer for IntoArt Magazine, and has most recently been a full-time staff writer for The Indiana Daily Student. By age 20 she had contributed to publications including The Chicago Daily Herald and Symmetry Magazine, and has previously been a full-time writer in the Public Communications Office at Fermilab National Accelerator Laboratory.

Journalism has been her gift, talent, passion and professional ambition since grade school, and she continues to combine her love for the art of storytelling with experienced knowledge of the field and valuable individual insight. Eternally interested in all facets of life, people, and the world around her, she has the innovative ability to find what’s newsworthy, share it with others, and articulate what makes it worth investing in.

Lauren is also a self-taught artist, and has used her creative talents for both personal and commercial commissions in US and England.

Please refer to the links on the right for more information and published work.
